On March 8 and 10, Melody Moore stars in two sold-out performances of Puccini’s Il Tabarro and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana at Dresden’s Philharmonie im Kulturpalast. Marek Janowski leads the cast, which will also feature Brian Jagde, Lester Lynch, Elisabetta Fiorillo, Roxana Constantinescu, Khanyiso Gwenxane, Simeon Esper and Martin-Jan Nijhof.

“Moore’s performance is disquietingly alluring. She and Kallor turn Poe’s canonic text into the terrifying, exhibitionist confession of a sociopath. Her incisive diction, specific musicality and full-throttle singing, punctuated by bone-chilling laughs and whispers, make this a tour-de-force performance, a true marriage of song, declamation, poetry and psychological thriller. Throughout, she is in close dialogue with Roman, who’s in complete command of his cello as a musical and dramatic tool.”

“Melody Moore’s touching Senta was a breathtaking combination of sheer power, slicing easily through dense orchestrations and light-handed lyricism, full of soft, floating, high passages.”

“…his daughter Senta (angelic-voiced soprano and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music graduate Melody Moore).”

Milwaukee Magazine

“As Senta, the woman who sacrifices herself to grant the Dutchman’s salvation from his curse, Melody Moore was fascinating, using her full lyric soprano as a vocal actress, with nuance after nuance and singing with a brilliant tone.”
