On March 8 and 10, Melody Moore stars in two sold-out performances of Puccini’s Il Tabarro and Mascagni’s Cavalleria Rusticana at Dresden’s Philharmonie im Kulturpalast. Marek Janowski leads the cast, which will also feature Brian Jagde, Lester Lynch, Elisabetta Fiorillo, Roxana Constantinescu, Khanyiso Gwenxane, Simeon Esper and Martin-Jan Nijhof.

“Moore’s performance is disquietingly alluring. She and Kallor turn Poe’s canonic text into the terrifying, exhibitionist confession of a sociopath. Her incisive diction, specific musicality and full-throttle singing, punctuated by bone-chilling laughs and whispers, make this a tour-de-force performance, a true marriage of song, declamation, poetry and psychological thriller. Throughout, she is in close dialogue with Roman, who’s in complete command of his cello as a musical and dramatic tool.”

Opera News

“Melody Moore’s touching Senta was a breathtaking combination of sheer power, slicing easily through dense orchestrations and light-handed lyricism, full of soft, floating, high passages.”

Journal Sentinel

“…his daughter Senta (angelic-voiced soprano and Cincinnati Conservatory of Music graduate Melody Moore).”

Milwaukee Magazine

“As Senta, the woman who sacrifices herself to grant the Dutchman’s salvation from his curse, Melody Moore was fascinating, using her full lyric soprano as a vocal actress, with nuance after nuance and singing with a brilliant tone.”

On January 11 and 13, Melody Moore stars Senta in a concert version of Wagner’s thrilling Der Fliegende Holländer in Milwaukee. Wagner’s most concise opera is a sweeping allegory of the redemptive power of unconditional love. An internationally-acclaimed cast, with Ryan McKinny as the Dutchman , Peter Rose as Daland and AJ Glueckert as Erik, combines with breathtaking visual effects never before seen in Uihlein Hall. Edo de Waart leads the orchestra.

From November 17 until December 15, join Melody Moore for a classic holiday treat!

Melody Moore portrays the Mother opposite Craig Colclough as the Father in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel un Gretel. Sasha Cooke and Liv Redpath sing the title roles and Susan Graham stars as the uproariously wicked witch. The opera will be performed in English with projected English texts. James Conlon conducts.

“…soprano Melody Moore’s brilliant tones—especially her laser-focused top notes—signaled that the heroine’s resolve would never flag.

Moore’s commanding voice and compelling presence established Senta as the real driving force of this opera. Within moments of Moore’s appearance, she sang the rugged opening of Senta’s Ballad with strength and security. Yet when the text and music turned toward the Dutchman’s redemption, Moore’s gentleness showed that Senta already felt compassion for a man she knew only as a legend.”

Texas Classical Review

“Moore has a radiantly dusty voice that’s pure velvet.”

Houston Press

“It’s a special tragedy in Houston Grand Opera’s season opener (a co-production by HGO, Atlanta Opera, and Cincinnati Opera), because the magnificent American soprano Melody Moore sings the role of Senta, and from the very first note out of her lips, you’re not going to want to see her leave the stage ever. Her voice conveys a transcendent purity that should leave no question in anyone’s mind of her undying faithfulness.”
